Veterinarians without Borders Canada has released some exciting opportunities for Canadians to volunteer overseas, including very dairy-specific postings (particularly Uganda and Kenya). All placement details are found at https://www.vetswithoutborders.ca/volunteer. We welcome Canadian applicants who are interested in following in the footsteps of the volunteers before them and contribute to the impact that VWB/VSF can have in impoverished communities. Becoming a VWB/VSF volunteer is a challenging and fulfilling experience, one that will enlighten anyone who has the courage to embark on such a venture!
The volunteers selected will be provided with the following:
- Travel and accommodation for the five-day pre-departure training course in Ottawa
- Return airfare to placement country and visa/permit costs
- Required vaccinations, anti-malarial medication and overseas emergency travel health insurance
- Monthly living allowance (MLA), designed to cover simple housing, basic food requirements and other typical monthly living expenses.
Anyone interested can send their resume and a covering letter which clearly indicate the position they are applying for, and how qualifications meet the requirements of this posting.
